On his own

Ely cant figure out who is hitting him in the face when his arms are flailing around but he has managed to stand up. He is getting so strong. I need to balance him but that is all he wants to do is stand up and he tries to bounce too.
He also made everyone Rudolf Christmas cards...Ok not everyone but a limited amount for some family.... He said they would be worth more if there were only a few.....Smart....

When he means it..

When he smiles at you and means it.... everything is alright. Yesterday was the first day he smiled at me and it wasn't gas or some involuntary muscle reaction. He's full of real ones today too especially when I sing to him or play Mommy's gonna get cha!

Tough is worth it

It has been almost a month now that little Ely has been with us and we have had a blast. It isnt easy.... lack of sleep and the endless diaper change...but it is sooooo worth it.
It snowed here today. Nothing worth building a snow man out of but it snowed. I made my wife get up out of her much needed sleep and take a picture of me and the boy in the snow. It is his first snow and I was really excited. It was a very quick adventure. He started to wake up..

soaked

My lord... you should of heard it hit the floor. It started off as a simple gargle. Turning itself into hickups. Then the silence.. I thought for sure that I finally got the little guy comfortable. I am a skinny father that doesnt have much cusion to lay comfortably on. Then as I was about to lay him down it came. Like a nothing I have ever seen before. Three projectial vomits. Soaking me and the floor..... It must of really been bothering him.... Because after that he looked so happy and relaxed ready for another round of feeding.

Lynn and Dan hold Ely. Dan was a little leary about holding a 4 day old, but he couldn't resist.

Sunday we brought Ely home from the hospital.
